PD Warrior

PD Warrior is an intensive circuit program designed to fight the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. PD Warrior is supported by a growing body of evidence that shows intensive, high–effort, complex exercise has the potential to slow the progression of your symptoms due to the brain’s ability to re-wire itself!

At West Tamar Physiotherapy, we apply the core principles of PD Warrior to create an engaging and supportive environment to exercise in. PD Warrior is not the same as going to the gym as it is a program specific to fighting the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. If you are not doing a combination of physical and cognitive exercises you may be missing out on the benefits of exercise.

Our goal is to help you:

  • Build your confidence
  • Move more freely
  • Re-train your brain
  • Get back to doing the things you love!

The team at Autism Swim assist us in targeting three key areas:

  • Water Therapy: Ensuring our swimmers are comfortable and happy to be in and around the water.
  • Water Safety: Water safety is imperative for every learner, however even more so for our swimmers who have a decreased ability to perceive risk and danger.
  • Learn to Swim: Adapting and modifying our teaching techniques to ensure we cater for all different learning styles and abilities. We work toward individual goals, rather than trying to fit learners into pre-determined ‘levels’
